August 8, 2011 Don’t Waste Your Dime on a Fashion Crime; Save Some Cents and Rent Your Dress
You’ve heard of Rent the Runway. You saw Bag, Borrow or Steal on Sex and The City the movie. Now comes the latest and greatest in women’s fashion rentals: maternity wear. So, get ready to have the hottest baby bump around, Ms. Preggers, because this fashion update is all for you!
Although I’ve never been blessed with children, I am an honorary aunt many times over. I have seen numerous friends brave pregnancy…and the fashion nightmare that comes with it. Is there anything harder than dressing that baby bump in fashionable and affordable clothing? While shopping with a friend who was with child with her first, we braved her first venture into a maternity wear shop. Our jaws dropped as we realized how expensive a mere pain of business pants would cost. It is especially horrific when realizing that these clothes will only be worn for a few months.
So, may I introduce you to Mine for Nine, Rent Maternity Wear and Belly Bump Boutique. Now, I know you’re probably thinking that the clothes are out-of-date, not to your taste or too expensive, but I was so pleasantly surprised to see that what not the case. Here’s a sample!
Prices vary by site, with Mine for Nine seemingly the most affordable. So do your homework, gals, but have fun in the process. How great is it that you can now be one hot momma on a budget?!?

May 30, 2011 Get Your Game On!
Well, as it is Memorial Day, I should probably be writing about our amazing military personnel, the sacrifices made and the incredible families who support or have lost their loved ones. But I have a problem. Today, amidst all the observations, beautiful commemorations and heartfelt gratitude, college football reared its wonderful head.
The morning started with the announcement that Ohio State’s Jim Tressel had announced his resignation after a prolonged go-round with university and NCAA officials. In the end, the truth came out, and Tressel’s multitude of lies and schemes were exposed to the world. Then, word comes out that South Carolina’s oft-troubled, sometimes talented quarterback Garcia had been semi-reinstated into the program after many had believed his career as a Gamecock was done.
As I ruminated about all of this while reclining in a lounger by the pool, I couldn’t help but think I still needed to write about my sincere gratitude to those who had made the ultimate sacrifice, until…
Lil Bit Clothing Co. unveiled The Jenn Dress. That was it. I couldn’t contain my excitement for SEC football any longer. With a few joined seams and swatches of blue and orange, fashion trumped holiday and dictated that college football rule the day. So, here’s to the many men and women serving overseas, and to my beloved orange and blue. Gator Nation gives thanks for your service, even as we get ready to scream, “Go Gators!” this fall in The Swamp.

May 23, 2011 Accessorize!
“InStyle” is one of my all-time favorite publications. A fashion magazine, it speaks to today’s woman, crossing many demographics, income levels, etc. But the best part of this glamazine is that is offers the average girl great tips and advice on how to make high (a.k.a expensive) fashion accessible and affordable.
A great example is their latest article on how to recreate some of Hollywood’s hottest accessories: http://www.instyle.com/instyle/package/general/photos/0,,20276967_20476997_20926495,00.html
Not one to make the most of hair accessories, I must admit that this particular article is inspiring me to reconsider how I can incorporate feathers, ribbons and headbands into my daily wardrobe. Maybe this article can help you, too!
